Told I was made redundant after being initially told I was safe

Originally I was told my role was safe but have sadly been informed today that a counterproposal has been put in and accepted. I will now have to compete with another person for the role I was initially told was mine. Emotional rollercoaster or what.

What would you do? Is it worth calling a lawyer?

They should now consult you on redundancy.

I'd call ACAS first before paying for a lawyer.
