AIBU to think that right in local WhatsApp group is ridiculous?

We have a local WhatsApp group for our street and recently there have been a number of issues with Household 1 arguing with Household 2 over storage of bins and something to do with a greenhouse.

This culminated yesterday evening with the DH of Household 1 visiting Household 2 where he yelled that Household 2 DH was a nonce and banged in the window for about 20 minutes before he was dragged away.

I personally think it has gone a bit far, but really can’t see what is worth being so bothered about?

Crikey, a massive over reaction about bins! Ours is much more supportive, we're all working together to report local dealing to police, have a shared Google drive for video evidence and police report numbers, dp and i have just put up a temporary fence on the alley way as the councillors said we could. Otherwise it is mislaid cats, and can I borrow a spirit level/drill etc. No falling out....

I just thank God that I've never been invited to join a local What's App group.... life is simply too short to deal with endless unnecessary trivia.

“I personally think it’s gone a bit far”

😂are you really suggesting others might disagree with this??

usernother · 03/09/2023 16:52

I agree but would find it entertaining in a crazy neighbour way

MinnieMouse0 · 03/09/2023 17:01

Agree it’s wayyy too far but it’s the kind of drama I love!

mumda · 03/09/2023 17:05

Oh there's a sitcom sat there in your phone.

xyz111 · 03/09/2023 17:09

Leave the WhatsApp group and stay out of it

Fannyfiggs · 03/09/2023 17:12

Ooof, I'd love a WhatsApp group for our street if there was all that drama. Stay in the group and just watch it all unfold.

MidnightOnceMore · 03/09/2023 17:17

This is why I shun all local Whatsapp groups, there is always a risk of drama.

Rogue1001MNer · 03/09/2023 17:20

Oooo.

I'd be agog

Americano75 · 03/09/2023 17:24

I'd be at my window with popcorn.

sezzer87 · 03/09/2023 17:25

Ugh I'd remove myself from the group. There's no need to be this involved with your neighbours.

Prinnny · 03/09/2023 17:27

I mean, it’s gone a bit 0 to 60 with Keith doesn’t store the bins right to Keith touches kids! The other fella sounds a bit unhinged. I would keep my distance but keep the WhatsApp notifications on and popcorn to hand 🍿

Whatswhatwhichiswhich · 03/09/2023 17:34

Well you can’t simply not update us on your neighbourhood drama now 😂

InSpainTheRain · 03/09/2023 18:21

I just mute ours and catch up if I'm bored every few weeks by flicking through. It's amazing what you don't need to be involved in or know!
