To feel angry, bitter and cheated regarding the weather

Lighthearted but not really😭

We’ve just returned from a U.K. holiday. Weather was ok on some days but rained on others and DC ended up doing indoors stuff they could just have easily done at home. Meanwhile the weather back home (London) was beautifully sunny for several days when we were aware enduring the rain.

We returned home today. The weather for the area we’ve just left is now forecast to be 20 something phucking degrees every day. Perfect weather for the beaches we couldn’t visit when we were there due to the driving rain.

What is killing me: DD’s best friend is going there this week. Her friends parents decided to go during term time to save money so they will be paying £1k less to stay in the same place we stayed. Plus the weather will be lovely. School restarts on Wednesday so they will only be missing a couple of days and are cool about paying a possible fine. DP actually suggested we go this week to also save money and DD begged to go at the same time as her friend and like a fool I said no because…school. So I can’t even rant at them about the unfairness of it all.

The mother, who I am friends with, WhatsApped me a picture as they arrived of the lovely sunny day. I feel like blocking her!!

I feel your pain! Just travelling back from a beachy area of the UK ready for school and the best weather we had was 18 degrees and cloudy with a number of wet days. Home is a very rainy part of the north west and the weather was dry there this week. Forecast for where we're leaving is 22 and sun all next week 😩

Honestly, I can’t cope. I’m staring at bags of unwashed holiday clothes, contemplating the ironing, getting school school stuff ready and preparing for dreaded work on Monday.

I’m burning with resentment.

I've come back fat and broke! And yes, with so much school prep and washing 😩

What kind of relationship do you have with the mother? With many of my “real” friends I could reply with a photo of my washing, a crying emoji and something along the lines of “Have I ever told you that I hate you?” or “I thought we were friends” but obviously you need to be very sure of your audience!
