To think it’s a bit odd that ads for erectile dysfunction products are shown during The Chase?

Just seems a bit early to me. Prepared to be told IABU.

If its the one I think it is (darn "computer") it's on all the time
But there's actually about 3 different ones on, some more subtle than others

Its essentially just an advert for a medical product and also breaking the taboo about erectile dysfunction being shameful, similar to adverts for Tena lady mentioning wee or period adverts now showing blood

The advert for the spa which goes on about how there's no illegal drugs there is far odder and more inappropriate tbh

Media buying's done on the basis of audience, and The Chase rates highly for middle aged and older adults. Erectile dysfunction products aren't watershedded, snd the ads aren't really explicit. So when you think about it, it's not really surprising!

They seem to be everywhere at the moment! I wondered recently if there has been a change in rules around supplying/advertising recently as they have popped up (no pun intended!) from nowhere.

Personally I find it annoying..... especially the incontinence pads one. Also seems to be a lot more erectile dysfunction ones showing.....🤷‍♀️

Karen398 · 31/08/2023 19:56

Probably they know a lot of middle aged men will be watching

Agree it is early but of course children's tv is in a sort of hidden place instead of being on BBC or ITV main channels which I think some should be.

Worse still was a trailer on BBC 1 for Mrs Brown's Boys shown during the day. The show that is a three word argument for licence fee abolition.

Presumably a lot of middle aged women don't want men to solve their erectile dysfunction "problem" or to have it shoved down their throat 😂 non stop

Then there's the vaginal dryness ones too!!
