Parcel delivered to neighbour, says he doesn’t have it!

I live in a new build property. Evri parcels keep being delivered to a flat with a similar address to mine. Because of this I avoid using them. Bought something from Amazon and thought it would be delivered by a Amazon courier(who find my address fine) but it was delivered by Evri and has gone to the same flat again.

There is proof of delivery, a photo with the package been left at their door. But the man is adamant he doesn’t have it and maybe someone took it. Last time this happened my parcel had been opened by him by “accident “ and it took a good 10 mins for him to find it.

I will contact Amazon for a refund but I’m concerned this might happen again. I really would give him the benefit of the doubt, but it’s with him opening the previous parcel, I feel he may be the type to keep it!

Thoughts?

How many properties are in the new build development that you now live in? As more people move in, presumably the delivery companies will realise that there is now another address with such-and-such name and the problem will resolve itself in time.

in the meantime use Amazon Lockers and store collection points so you don't have to continually get refunds.

There are 12 properties in total, all occupied. I’ve been here since January. Yes I’ll look into Amazon lockers. Thanks

Start doing click and collect. You have no evidence he stole it, parcels shouldn't be left on doorsteps so the issue is with Evei / Amazon

If you create an Evri account or download there is the opportunity to specify a safe place or a neighbour you trust. There is also somewhere to state if there is a neighbour that shouldn't be used for drop offs.

We use what 3 words because of this. It has helped. We put the words in the delivery notes

We had something similar, Road/Gardens was a mix up with the delivery drivers. I sent my dh round and the fucker opened the parcel. I don’t think pink sparkly heels were his style 😏
Dh left him with the comment, ‘if it’s not for you don’t open the fucking box’. He can be scary to look at as ex rugby player, think broken nose/cauliflower ear, looks like a boxer 😂hasn’t happened since funnily enough.

Yes same thing as me, it’s so rude. Defo feel like they have my Amazon parcel. I live on “Avenue” they live on “Lane”

Evri are ridiculous at times. I filled in what 3 words, where to leave it and where not to leave it, I even put a note on the door to not leave with no 2 under any circumstances ( the wife of the couple was very ill). Yep they still knocked on and left it there, I looked on the camera and they hadn't even tried my 'safe' place or anything.🤨

Yeah this wouldn’t work unfortunately. They’re not a neighbour as such but live further down across the road. Our addresses are the same besides I live on “Avenue “ they live on “Lane” so the couriers are completely mixing our addresses up. They obviously can’t read…..🙄
