What's going on in my neighbours head?

I've complained to my neighbour a number of times about their dog which has now multiplied into two dogs. She would let dog 1 bark and bark and not shut her up. After the first time I complained about a year and half ago she apologised and it got a bit better and then she let it go again.

This happens on repeat.

I last went round a few weeks ago after my nerves were shot. The dogs were barking every few minutes followed by her bellowing the dogs names. Her mother was there at the time just visiting and denied the dogs were even barking. I said I was going to take it to the council and since then it has been soooo peaceful. Over the past few weeks there has been maybe three incidents of barking with them immediately shutting up. Until today.

After a visit to the doctors for anxiety (caused by this), I came to work from home and the dogs have been barking less than every five minutes with her bellowing their names. Its been shit. The thing is I know she can keep them perfectly quiet so why has she let this slip again? Surely it's stressful for her when they're barking so frequently.

Record it, keep a diary and report it

StBrides · 31/08/2023 17:19

Yes to keeping a diary but if today is the first day she's slipped there might be a reason for it and would give her the benefit of the doubt for today.

Are you able to have a friendly conversation with her or is it beyond that? Maybe she needs help? Maybe if you explained the anxiety etc she would put in more effort? Horrible situation xx

Record it, log it in a book and report it now

SpeedbirdSquawker · 31/08/2023 17:31

I've already reported to the council but heard nothing back. They must be busy.

It's definitely beyond a friendly chat now. Im exhausted with it.
