Going out for dinner when we really could do to save the money? (Lighthearted post!)

We are hoping to TTC in a few months and DH has just suggested an impromptu date night. I feel bad about this as we’ve already been a bit spendy this month- me in particular, I bought new hotel Chocolat hot chocolate boxes and I’ve had several takeaway coffees, plus we have had a Chinese and an Indian takeaway all since we’ve both been paid which was less than a fortnight ago.

I would love to go and we can afford it on paper but then I think, is it frivolous and silly to when cooking at home would be more sensible? On the other hand I know there might be less opportunity in the future to be spontaneous and do things like this at the drop of a hat!

YABU - go out, enjoy it and make some nice memories
YANBU - reign in the discretionary spending

Absolutely go! When you're pregnant/have children you'll look back on these days and be happy you did!
