To ask how you escaped the rat race?

Feeling trapped and in need of inspiration…

Moved from the expensive SE to somewhere where I could buy outright without a mortgage. I was then able to leave a career I no longer enjoyed to take up a new direction doing something completely different.

My income is a fraction of what it was but I don't regret leaving my previous life at all.

Left teaching to become a gardener. Changed our life and budget hugely to make it work but don't regret it at all.

Had a career break which turned into a never going to go back.

Now earn about 1/4 of what i used to, so everything is massively cut back, including how much time I actually work. It's bliss. Life is for living.
