Tired of being wanted!!

My child is currently ALL about me, only me. If I’m in the same room, he will cry if his dad goes anywhere near him. If I’m not in the room, he screams for me. He’s nearly 2 😳 he will only let me put him to bed etc. He goes to nursery fine, grandparents fine, he just won’t leave me alone when he knows I am nearby.

Please tell me this will end?!

I’m currently off work for summer hols and his dad is working long hours so there’s not much we can do to change how much time we are spending with him.

Any experience of this? I am despairing, it’s very demanding! And hard for my husband!

Wow it's tough! It will pass though and it sounds as though your partner is involved and willing. Hopefully if dad stays close you, your little one will get used to having 2 parents.

Also, I know this is far easier said than done, but do try and get a break. Maybe dad could take little one for a walk or something and you can start building up from a cuppa on your own, a bath, a nap if you need one to going out on your own and remembering how to use both hands at the same time and answer to your name.

Baby steps. It will suddenly seem a long time ago and you'll get there
