Had an urgent appt scheduled for today by telephone - to discuss being put on waiting list for surgery - got told it would be at 2pm. No phone call came. Rang at 3pm, told its an approximate time and ‘someone will likely call you at some point, just wait by the phone.’
No-one’s rang yet. I’m guessing there was some sort of issue. I’ve tried ringing the department and got a voicemail saying they don’t answer the phone after 4 and only work Mon-Wed.
I’ve had to stay home for the whole afternoon and cancel another appt for this, and hover by the phone for 3 hours. I’m guessing they aren’t going to ring now. It’s a gynae thing so I can’t really go out and answer phone/discuss it while I’m out.
Would I be unfair to call them tomorrow? I’ve got an appt tomorrow afternoon again that I don’t want to miss, but won’t be able to answer my phone at that appt.
I get that there’s emergencies but it would be helpful to even get a text or something saying appt’s not going to happen today.
