Anyone changed jobs a lot recently?

I am looking for recruitment/HR/similar MNrs opinions and experiences please. I did post on the work board but all seems quiet. Anyone else here found in their 40s and 50s they're fed up of changing jobs after being previously settled? I am worried in the future having taken jobs to fit in around DC (I know not everyone does it but still that was my choice) my flighty CV/application forms of random local authority jobs will look odd!

Friends and family may be bias of me and my experiences, so I am looking for non-biased opinions of my recent regular workplace moves within local authority, all at non tech level, just admin/customer support and support worker grade, that have been sporadic of late, I basically looking for reassurance (where correct!) that what I have experienced is normal and that I'm not having a mid-life crisis! Here is my employment history:

First LA job duration: 8 years.

Second LA job duration: 6 years.
Move up North, in another LA, job duration: 6 years.

Third job duration: 18months (FTC) alongside a permanent role where I was for 6 years.

Fourth job duration in another local authority that is more rural: 2 years during the pandemic so not a great experience.

Fifth job duration in private sector outside of local authority: 10 months (nice colleagues but couldn't see me doing the role long term)

Sixth job duration back in rural local authority: current...7 months. Awful experience, as unprofessional as it may sound, damaging to my mental and emotional health (bullying, mis-sold job, which they admitted in part, and very unprofessional).

So...I have now been offered a one year FTC to support with a project back in the city local authority where I was several years ago which I have accepted. The FTC may get made permanent but I figured this would not only offer some breathing space. I am due to start a degree in October, but I can potentially, pick up work (either another contract or permanent)with the same local authority if it doesn't get extended/made permanent, but I just really wanted to get back to where I was previously settled.

Questions are, reading this, does it look like a mid-life crisis? am I being a fool taking a FTC? (should be OK financially if worst case scenario hits), and also, if I do have to reapply for other roles will I look like a job hopper and a bit flighty!

i May have mis read this but are you doing a full time one year contract but starting uni in October? I’m not sure how you’d manage both?

yup I worry about the same. Did 12 years LA followed by 2 stints of 1 year each, returned to uni then onto my second round of 1 year, hating it and wanting to return to previous place . I mean if people are giving you interviews and offering you jobs it’s all fine isn’t it? I actually found it hardest to get interviews/ job offers after the 12 year stint .

think I’m just less tolerant / have more on my plate/ things need to work for me nowadays.
