AIBU to ask for the best and cheapest car breakdown service

Have just looked at the cost of AA and RAC and both seem v expensive. Are there any others which are good but are cheaper? I used one years ago but can’t remember it’s name.

Green flag was cheaper for me

We pay £30 a year with Emergency Assist. There's also Autoaid.

I think these were the ones I was thinking of. Have been quoted £170 by the AA!!

I use start rescue. Just got my renewal quote today and it’s £45 including home start. I have no idea if it’s good or not as I’ve never had to use it. But it can’t be any worse than my experience with the RAC.

I was with the AA for a long time. Every year they’d double the price and every year I’d ring up and haggle them back down again. Got fed up and went to Green Flag.

Auto aid are great and so cheap

They use all the same people as RAC and AA anyway for recovery.

Britannia Rescue has been the same (fairly reasonable) price for several years - no haggling. The one time I had to use them it took a while to get through but the Recovery truck was quick enough to arrive.

I use them too. They're brilliant.

We've used AutoAid for years. Have been excellent whenever we've had to use them and are a fraction of the price of AA and RAC.
