To feel so emotional about the world cup final

I feel like this is so big. Our first ever world Cup final. I watched the build up and going from women being banned playing football to this. The stadium being sold out, millions watching around the world. So many people discussing it and being so proud of our team.

I'm so proud to be a woman right now!

Watching with my two football playing daughters - admit to having a tear or two so far!

I can hear people in the pub now all excited.
im not English so I wanted Sweden to win but as a feminist I really hope they win. And the more records the lionesses can break the more misogynists will be upset (I’m sorry for their wife’s of course), and that can only be a good thing towards actual future equality

Watching it, instead of going to bed.

I’m watching the athletics World Champs personally.

Watching it with my niece. Neither of us are footie fans, but she's been following the Lionesses & we're cheering them all the way, feeling quite emotional. Come on England

It's been such a lively game so far far!

It's nerve wracking, though

Not a good result though. England losing, again.

Not really. No one remembers the runner up. The problem in this country is that people constantly trot out this line about taking part being more important than winning. It really isn’t.

We flicked over from athletics to watch our player number 2 shouting at the ref before Spain took a penalty. It’s this sort of behaviour from footballers, male & female, which is why we avoid it.

That's not what I mean though. I mean it's put women's football on the map. Given young girls inspiration to take part in the sport. More equal pay for women footballers etc

It was because the Spanish player hadn't put the ball on the spot and the ref wasn't listening

Looking forward to the final heptathlon event later. Come on KJT!
