To think about circumventing agency

I have a dilemma that is both financial and ethical.
We have been looking for a housekeeper and met a lovely one through an agency.
Since the introduction the agency has been pretty horrible, retaining info, putting huge pressure on us to make a decision quickly, being obnoxious about us asking for a trial etc. I have discovered that they are not passing on important negotiation points to the candidate etc. We really like the candidate and they wouldn't mind going without the agency. I know it's risky on top of being ethically questionable but they are truly horrible and unprofessional and I feel they dont deserve their massive fee!
Thoughts?

Your lovely housekeeper will almost certainly be breaking her own agreements with the agency and at best could find herself off their books. Depending on the conditions she may even be liable for the lost fees.
