To think my holiday is doomed? (Trapped nerve)

I woke up this morning with a very painful neck. I’ve had this a couple of times previously, where I’ve slept wrong and woken up with a stiff neck, but it usually eases off over the day. However this time it hasn’t eased off, quite the opposite, and from googling I think it’s probably a trapped nerve. Intense pain on one side of my neck which extends down my arm and back. I have very restricted movement and it’s really difficult to get up from a lying down position.

And of course this had to happen just before I go on holiday (flying Friday). It’s a ‘doing things’ holiday - theme park and then sports activities such as skiing. Is there anything I can do to make it better so my holiday isn’t trashed?

I had a Thai massage where they actually stepped on my back etc. loosened the trapped nerve and I was able to do the return 9 hour drive home.

Mind you I hadn't realised this is what they would do until I was there....

All good today! I found a YouTube video about how to fix a trapped nerve instantly late last night, did the exercises and it was instant relief, well about 70% better anyway. Then woke up today feeling almost back to normal, it’s still a little bit tender in that area but I have full mobility back and don’t even feel like I need painkillers today.

Well down! Just keep doing the exercises to make sure you don't stiffen up.

Enjoy your holiday!
