To wonder if the same conversations about gender spaces are happening in France

In France at the moment on a campsite. Have been coming to France & camping for over 20 years and the toilet block & shower block is for both genders. The toilets even have urinals in them & toilet cubicles. It’s the same in many of the campsites that I stay on. Same for shower blocks. Was also the same in the toilets at the Aire’s that we stopped in.

It is a big adjustment to use them- to come in to use the loo and find a bloke using a urinal but no one seems to bat an eyelid.

It just got me thinking about the conversations about single space issues that are happening at the moment in the U.K. and if France are having the same conversations given their approach to things like this.

I prefer U.K. campsites with both mens and womens shower blocks but I also don’t feel unsafe here in France- it’s just part of camping & everyone gets on with it, even if it is a bit weird seeing a bloke at a urinal when I go to the loo!!!
