Very worried about CRP / c reactive protein

I’m not sure if I am BU or not. I had a section a week ago and have just had a blood test as I’ve got a high temp. My CRP has come back as 154. The first Dr told me if it was over 50 I’d be admitted but the midwife has just said sections aren’t the east option everyone thinks they are and I don’t need to worry.

im not a medic and have tried googling but I’m shattered and looking after a week old baby while feeling unwell myself.

I suppose my AIBU is AIBU to be worried about sepsis/other infections or is this just par for the course for section recovery and I’ll feel better soon enough?

It needs interpreting alongside your symptoms/other results including white cell count, and if possible any previous CRPs from after the section. Surgery does cause a rise in CRP but so does infection and a bunch of other things. The doctor who ordered the test should review the result and make a plan with you.
