If you aren’t going away this year what treats do you give yourself at home?

We aren’t going away this summer but have got a week off at the end of the month where we will do some day trips with the kids. Do you give yourself any treats when you are off work to still make it feel like you are having a break and so you go back a bit refreshed? Without spending loads of money?

Few days of no cooking or chores

The main thing that makes life easier for me is not having to think about food, so for a treat I would order a couple of takeaways in the evenings, go for brunch one morning, and maybe get myself a box of chocolates. But this does all cost money.

Definitely no cooking. Pizza, burgers, takeaways. Watch movies in the evenings. Ice cream, chocs, sweets. My family used to like to picnic in the garden or better still, on the floor of the lounge. Ease up on bedtimes.

Definitely no cooking! Plan restaurants or takeaways if you've got the budget, if not then the simplest equivalent you can make it at home - pizzas and beige food you can grab out of the freezer, or readymade options such as pies or lasagnas that might be too expensive for everyday shopping but still cheaper than eating out.

A designated PJs day with a plan not to leave the house

Being more relaxed about bedtimes, screentime.

Arranging a one off clean before or after the time off (or two if you can!) so that you're less likely to feel like you need to catch up on chores.
