So I work in engineering and I’ve been in my job for about 18 months. It’s well paid but it’s high stress.

my main responsibility is producing a 115 page document every month. I rely on lots of other people to complete various parts of it and I have to review it all and get it published. My main problem is that it’s too much work for one person. It has to be published every month and there are no breaks from it.

I have other responsibilities as well which include publishing another 30 page doc and various other documents for sign off.

Chasing other people and trying to get them to what they’re meant to do is soul destroying.

I have two young daughters and I work FT. It’s starting to notice that i have virtually no down time and im starting to feel like I’m broken physically and mentally.

I actually have no idea why im even putting this on here. Im just so tired and stressed.

Sorry to hear you're struggling.

I'm guessing that when you took the job this isn't what you expected you'd be doing all day? It sounds like a stressful and tedious responsibility that no one would volunteer to do, so I completely understand why you hate it.

You can't just carry on like this, so time to speak up.

Is it that the contributing teams are under resourced which puts additional load on you, or is it that too much load is put on you? Each of those need to be addressed in different ways, but an honest conversation with your line manager is needed before you burn out.
