I'm definitely not BU.

A few days of lots of hand washing and sanitiser out of necessity (in retrospect gloves would've been wiser) have absolutely ruined my fingers.

Today just doing normal day to day things I've cut/split open 3 of my fingers on the cuticle/edges of nails as they're so dry. All so sore and it's putting me off touching anything!!

Please tell me your #1 tip to cure my hands ASAP!!

I suffer with dry cuticles sometimes. My go to is OPI cuticle oil, however if I don't have any in the house I will use castor oil, Vick or even a small dash of olive oil... sorts them out! Bepanthen nappy cream is also really good.

Pawpaw oil! I know theres a branded one but I use the ALDI lacura brand and it's amazing fixes all dry sore bits over night.

Olive oil or coconut oil. Preferably the latter as it smells nicer 🙂

Lanisoh. The stuff you use for cracked nipples when you are breast feeding. It's phenomenal, and will solve any chapped or cracked skin issues.

Vaseline.

Sounds boring but I have a nightmare with my cuticles and have tried all sorts of recommended creams, moisturisers and oils.

Hands down the most effective at healing them is applying vaseline when I go to bed and in the morning. I keep a pot in my nightstand now and cuticles have never looked better.

I’m a nail tech. Regular cuticle oil (or olive oil if it’s all you have to hand). You can’t use it too much.

Cuticle oil and Cracked heel balm/cream.

If they’re really painful, liquid skin liquid plaster to protect while they heal. I use it on the deep, stupidly painful cracks I get at the edges of my nails. Creates a hard layer, feels a little like painting sterile superglue on! Works well.

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream

Jakadaal · 08/08/2023 22:53

Plain almond oil or just try a plain dry skin cream like Epaderm .

Dior Crème Apricot has completely transformed my cuticles and I've tried all sorts of things. Use once a day before bed. Expensive but my pot isn't near finished and I've been using it about 9 months.

Sudacream! Rub in a generous amount before you go to sleep and you won’t believe how much better they will be by the next morning.

We call it the magic cream in our house.
