Mine is when my DS was 8 for his birthday he invited a few friends over for a film and sleepover. We suggested the Goonies as I had fond memories from that age: DS liked the idea .

About 15 mins in, DS's friend came over and asked DH "What are sexual torture implements?" DH said to ask me (as I knew the kid and his parents better) and I had a frantic text conversation with his mum ultimately saying to ask her.

In the film, the teenager tells the new Mexican maid (who only speaks Spanish) that they keep the sexual torture implements in the attic.

Anyway, that's mine. What's yours?

I once told my french next door neighbour, whilst discussing a sleepover for their 2 dds at our house, that I had a couple of spare "matelots" upstairs. She gave me a very strange look. I meant "matelas" - mattress and NOT sailors! 😳

We had a childhood friend who boarded at Bedales school and stayed with his gran, our neighbour, during the holidays. He had some interesting habits: he once ate his tea UNDER the table and could not be coaxed out; but the one we loved most was that he would leave the room now and again and stand outside the door for a moment, then come back in - turned out he was leaving the room to fart.
