How is this father still free? He beat his daughter with a metal stick, because she was wearing make, and because he thought she might be meeting a boy. The article says the daughter was advised by her mother to wear makeup to cover the marks he’d previously made. Sickening.

I agree. It’s a miscarriage of justice which minimises his awful crime and sends the wrong message to fellow men who beat their daughters.

Considering that the victim, his daughter, made a statement describing this crime as bringing shame on her family, I really hope the judge doesn’t live to regret this. ‘Honour’ killings can and do happen all too frequently.

To me anyone who commits violent crime where they hurt someone else this badly needs to be in prison. It will be a miracle if his daughter makes it to adulthood in one piece.

The Mum seems to be going along with the violence, probably through fear and lack of good options to leave. And he has 7 children in total, very likely there are other daughters / young women being subjected to his violence. It won't be just two incidents with this one daughter.

Poor wee soul. Is social services helping this young lass? What a horrible man ! The mother is just as bad . Yeah she is scared and all that but sorry I'd die for my children and no one would do that to either of them and be forgiven. Horrible just horrible.
