To be so fed up of the rain

Every day it's just rain, rain, rain. Yes we have put on our waterproofs and walked around muddy paths, but I am just so fed up of it. The one day we have had recently with a dry morning we used to mow the lawn. It's just depressing

Well yes, of course it is, but what can anyone do about it?
Be philosophical - rather this than 40% and wildfires everywhere.

asterdaisy · 06/08/2023 11:54

I can moan on here.

Yep. Im usually a try and see the positive but my partner had this week off & it rained every day. Unforunate.

Supernova23 · 06/08/2023 11:55

It's been miserable, yes, but I'd take it over 40 degree heat any day. We dodged a bullet. No one dies from a bit of rain. Plenty of people suffer and die from extreme heat.

Think the weather will be a bit more settled next week anyway.

MrsSkylerWhite · 06/08/2023 11:56

The reservoirs were really low where we are a few months ago and rivers were drying up so I’m actually relieved.

AlanJohnsonsBeemer · 06/08/2023 12:00

Yes me too, I am so unmotivated to go out and do anything. It was my birthday this week and I just wanted a drink in a beer garden

I can moan on here.

Sure you can, but does it make you feel better?

mycatsanutter · 06/08/2023 12:03

Crap isn't it , I got a bargain pool about 6 weeks ago and it's still not up , what's the point 🤷‍♀️

asterdaisy · 06/08/2023 12:03

@BMW6 yes it does

@mycatsanutter I had looked at those pools for gardens in May. Glad I didn't buy one but sorry to hear you haven't been able to use yours.

Totally agree with you. It's been a miserable summer.

Boredofmyguts · 06/08/2023 12:07

It’s shite, I don’t want 40c either but it shouldn’t be like this. Summers of my childhood were predominantly sunny and warm with the odd rainy day (we used to holiday in England and it was beach weather every day).

TokyoSushi · 06/08/2023 12:11

They specifically said on the 10pm BBC weather last night that today would be much better, brighter and drier.

Currently dark grey skies and torrential rain here. Thank goodness for Spain in a couple of weeks!

Oldtigernidster · 25/03/2024 18:53

I do sympathise. We retired to the east coast as it’s meant to be drier but it has rained most days since October. I can’t get into the garden and my dogs won’t walk in the rain. No advice, I just know how you feel.

TokyoSushi · 25/03/2024 21:32

Here I am answering myself 7 months on, it never got any better, I don't think it's stopped raining since - Spain was amazing though!
