Yes, other than people of course...

Me? My dog... just gently explaining to things and not giving a fig that he hasn't a clue what I'm talking about...

Myself (out loud) - Looking in the mirror, telling myself Im looking great... or encouraging myself that " you CAN do it"...

Inanimate objects, especially if I haven't really seen other people that day ... "well, you're being a bit obstinate" as a jam jar refuses to open. (And strangely, it does seem to make me feel less alone so I'm going to put that in the bag as helpful, rather than batty ...)

How about you?

The self scan checkouts at supermarkets.

"There is no unexplained item, I just bloody scanned it"
"You just told me to take it off, now you want it back on again??"
"What's wrong with this coupon now?"
"Oh fuck off"

😆

Today it was Video Games

Gnomegnomegnome · 04/08/2023 15:33

The animals (our pets but also sheep in the field etc) I saw all sorts to them
Plants (look at you, so pretty)
Things that get in my way such as Dh boots (why are you always in the way!)
The ATM (I say thank you)
My compluter/phone (what are you doing?!)
food while cooking (hurry up)

I spend too much time alone

AhNow123 · 04/08/2023 17:05

I tell my dog basic stuff like that she’s the best doggy in the world, she’s a great girl for catching the ball, and so on.

When I am disposing of an object I’d had for a while, like a broken kettle, I’ll thank it for its service and say sorry for throwing it out. It’s a guilt thing.

CrazyFrogDingDing · 04/08/2023 17:21

I talk to anyone and anything.
Nothing like putting the world to rights with a stranger at the bus stop, in the supermarket queue etc.

MatildaTheCat · 04/08/2023 17:54

I always have a chat with the printer before making any kind of request. I remind it that it gets a lot of free time and I’m only asking for one page. I ask it to consider what a difficult life some printers have by comparison and how kindly it has been cared for.

When it fails to listen to my gentle thoughts I become sterner.

I fucking hate my printer.

I thanked a parking machine for my ticket many years ago. It had been a really busy day and I was on autopilot. I didn’t release I had said anything out loud until other people in the queue sort of shuffled out of my way…

LyricalGangsta · 04/08/2023 18:14

My dog.. Sometimes he even appears to understand me
I always thank the ATM and say goodbye to supermarket self scan

uncomfortablydumb53 · 04/08/2023 18:26

Oh and Siri

UpUpUpU · 04/08/2023 18:30

My robot vacuum. Myself and my son treat him like another member of our family 😂.

I say thank you to cash machines, self check outs etc and talk to my car

Purplecatshopaholic · 04/08/2023 18:37

My cats, my dogs, Siri, occasionally inanimate objects that are being dicks..

Monsteraobliqua · 04/08/2023 18:38

I have some good chats with the cat and shower him with compliments regularly. He meows and chirps back quite a bit so he's an equal participant!

If my DP lets me have a crack at one of his few but excellent blackheads I find myself persuading it out out loud.

loveyouradvice · 05/08/2023 00:01

thank you ... you've brought a big smile to my face....
