To think that some people begrudge you the air that you breathe?

I’m on a FB group where someone asked for advice.

She had sold an item on Vinted and the buyer wanted to sell it on. The buyer had asked whether they might use the seller’s original photos for the item. Not professional photos, just your standard phone cam snaps. A one-off item, second-hand clothes or shoes or some such.

The person asking for advice was uncertain whether she should agree to this request (!) Most people said why on earth would you say no, but a couple of people said they would definitely say no. The reasoning was that why should someone else benefit from their work, she should just take her own photos etc etc. They urged the seller to say no.

Am I missing something or is it just that some people begrudge others getting absolutely anything at all for nothing? 🙃

I think that a lot. Most (not all!) of the CF threads on here make me think "You'd seriously begrudge 10minutes, £2.50, some used baby clothes, the use of your loo [insert example of choice]? Why, ffs?"

Disclaimer. I know there are times when 2.50 is a significant sum of money. But I'm talking about won't, not can't.

I see it on our local Freecycle group too, people post things and say “in exchange for a bar of chocolate/bunch of flowers”.

I know that this probably helps to weed out the CFs who don’t turn up but the point of Freecycle is that you get absolutely nothing in return. Post it on Marketplace if you want a £4 bunch of petrol station forecourt flowers FFS!
