Didn't drink any for over a year, then consumed two bottles over the space of 3 weeks and am now fully bloated and a few lbs heavier again!
To be honest this happens whenever I drink alcohol (inc.that slimline G&T), regardless how low in calories. It definitely increases my appetite, but there is something particularly special about red wine when it comes to nibbles.
Wine and cheese and other nibbly things. Wine and dinner. Food leads to wine and wine leads to food.
I have experimented in the past by forcing myself not to nibble when drinking wine, and the urge was stroooong!
I think even after one glass of a delicious red the nibble gene wakes up.
Since returning to normal (one or two single malt's per week) the bloat has gone away again, the blotches on my face have vanished and I am a few lbs lighter again, with no other changes to my diet.
