Posting for traffic and help
Due to unforeseen circumstances I'm having to move city and move in with family at nearly 35 weeks pregnant.
I need to have a c section at 39 weeks as I have a complicated medical history.
Where do I begin?
The GPs I've spoken to say it takes upto 14 days to register with them so that will take me to 37 weeks, then how can I get a midwife.
The city I'm moving to has an online referral form linked to the GP surgery so I can't refer until I'm registered.
Any help / advice appreciated
Super stressed

ideally your current GP should do an urgent referral to an obstetric consultant at your new location. the best thing to do would be for them to call the new maternity unit and explain the situation to the sister in charge or registrar on call. they can give you an urgent appointment (no matter who or where your GP is) and take it from there. if you are due an elective C section, you need to be seen by anaesthesist/obs consultant ASAP especially given medical history. if this fails I would go in to the new location's maternity a&e/urgent care centre and ask to speak to someone. also as far as I know, GPs still have to see you if needed during the 14 day registration period. did you just speak to receptionist or the actual GP? no doctor in their right mind would leave a patient in your situation without adequate support!
