Would anyone be willing to show me their living room decor ? How you've styled the room. What colour sofa cushions ect. I'm utterly clueless what goes together and can't put ideas together

Why would you try to invade someone's privacy like this.

Did you put photos up of your house yet?

Dovetail40 · 24/07/2023 18:40

Put up photos of your house and we can give you tips!

Mine is duck egg blue walls, 2 duck egg blue sofas, emerald green curtains and cushions, parquet floor, bath stone fireplace. Ercol rocking chair and tallboy, bookshelves, paintings on the walls (not valuable, but original watercolours), framed photos on the surfaces, some plants in one corner, small collection of Beswick animals on display. It’s fairly uncluttered. Easy to keep clean and tidy. It’s “spoilt” by a very large, very old TV in one corner!

@Ponoka7 could I please ask how much it cost to take the chimney breasts out?

Livinglacheetosloca · 24/07/2023 19:06

I have 4 walls a floor and a ceiling as well as windows and a couple of doors.

DyslexicPoster · 24/07/2023 19:10

Mines is somewhere between these, but not modern. I love victorian / edwardian looks. Pink is only half way to the rail thingy. So much easier to stay mainly cream. Then teal rugs, cushions etc that are quite contrasting.

But a cushion and use the colours from hat the build your room.

Have a look at expensive designers ones that someone has all ready gone to the trouble of putting it all together

DannyLaRuesBestFrock · 24/07/2023 19:13

Lol @ absolutely nobody putting a pic of their own home up 😂

Why don't you show us yours OP?

madeinmanc · 24/07/2023 19:27

Go on Rightmove for inspiration but look at expensive houses in the best areas.

It was part of other work so it only added £600 to the job. I had a skip already, £240. Then the room needed plastering, including scree etc, that was £950.

sittingonacornflake · 25/07/2023 06:56

@Ponoka7 thank you! Food for thought. My lounge / diner would be so much more conveniently shaped if they were taken out!

BoobyDazzler · 25/07/2023 07:07

No, bit mine is F&B School House White like the rest of my house dark oak flooring, claret velvet sofas and massive pouffe, a stuffed bookshelf, a log burner, and TV and a PlayStation, oh and some
mid century small tables that kind of fit together. None of the furniture matches.
