does anyone work abroad as a medical professional and can help with whether my past would mean its not possible for me?

I have a driving conviction and a ban until December 2024. My partner has always been desperate to work abroad and it was in our life plan together to do this. Our relationship is now tense as I didn’t want to rock the boat (currently employed in the uk and feel lucky given what I’ve done). I am not even sure anywhere would accept me with a conviction like this? How could I check? There doesn’t seem to be anything online that says yes or no to each country if you see what I mean. I feel I’ve lost so much and really don’t want to lose dp too so want to make it work if I can. TIA.

Motoring conviction or criminal conviction related to a motoring offence?

which country?

Think you need to be more specific as to what this "driving conviction" entailed if you want meaningful responses.

I take it we're not talking about a few points on your licence?

I was drinking at the time. @HaveYouHeardOfARoadAtlas dp will move pretty much anywhere at this point, just don’t know where to start.

I don't know about whether your conviction would affect your chances of working abroad. But your wording makes me feel like you're minimising what you did.

Drinking at the time? Nope, sounds like you were driving whilst over the prescribed limit.

Drink driving in real words.

NZ is an option if you have conviction but were not imprisoned https://www.al.nz/immigration-implications-of-a-dui-conviction/

It won’t just be the immigration aspect. It’s whether the nursing board (or whatever profession) will allow the OP to register.

Op, I think you’ll have to check with each registration board separately
