If so- what ages would you recommend?

I want to do so it's still magical for my eldest. 2 year age gap between all kids.

I've been but I'd personally go when they're older and will remember it

Usernameunknownfornow · 22/07/2023 21:31

They will enjoy it when they are 8/10 years.

Superstar22 · 22/07/2023 21:32

They’re far too young, they’ll get too cold & once they get cold it’s really hard to warm them up.

we went with a yr1 & yr2 …. I would try and get your youngest to at least yr1… it won’t matter how old the oldest one is, it’s so amazing, they’ll love it. I think my 10 year old would still totally love it

Hellocatshome · 22/07/2023 21:32

8, 6 and 4 would be better. I have been twice and toddlers generally seemed to not be having that much fun.

Usernameunknownfornow · 22/07/2023 21:34

When they reach teens 13 years they won't really enjoy it ime

ObviouslyNameChanged99 · 22/07/2023 21:40

I would leave it 3 years. 9, 7 & 5 would be perfect. I took mine when they were 12, 8 & only just 6. Obviously the 12 y.o. didn't believe but he still loved it and knew to keep the secret. The 8 & 6 year old still remember it and say how amazing it was 5 years later.

We also did other activities like skidoo, husky sled, reindeer sleigh & amethyst mine.

Thegoodthieves · 22/07/2023 21:46

We took ours when they were 6 and 8 (almost 9) and that felt about right. In fact they’d love it this year at 7 and almost 10 so in your case I’d choose 9,7,5.

Thegoodthieves · 22/07/2023 21:47

They need to be able to independently get their layers /socks etc on and know not to lose gloves and hats. I think it would be hard work with a toddler.

underneaththeash · 22/07/2023 21:48

We took DD when she was 3 and she hated it/ she was far too cold. You can wait until they’re a bit older.

Thegoodthieves · 22/07/2023 21:49

its an amazing holiday, just wait a few years to get the most out of it.

StandingMyGround888 · 22/07/2023 21:50

I went when I was 14 and enjoyed it. 6 4 and 2 sounds absolute nightmare. I'd wait until 9, 7 and 5.

Hankunamatata · 22/07/2023 21:51

I would wait until the eldest is 9 or 10

Hellocatshome · 22/07/2023 21:52

Actually yes 9,7 and 5 sounds great. I dont know why in my head their age had to be an even number.

Shakenbutbarelystirred · 22/07/2023 21:54

4 is the absolute minimum I would take them. Mine went at 11, 7, 4 and they all loved it but it was hard work with the little one because of the cold. For your ages 9/7/5 or 10/8/6 would be wonderful.

ellesbellesxxx · 22/07/2023 21:56

Definitely wait a couple more years. My FIL insisted on us going when our twins were 4.5 and absolutely they had fun, but they got so cold that my daughter didn’t enjoy the last couple of hours. They were so tired too!

Usernameunknownfornow · 22/07/2023 21:57

10,8 and 6.Definitely

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 22/07/2023 22:07

It’s hard isn’t it? You want to give the eldest the experiences when they’re at the right age to enjoy them, but equally you don’t want the youngest to be so young that it’s not suitable for them.

PPs above have made good suggestions of ages

Beezknees · 22/07/2023 22:30

I took DS when he was 5 and it was perfect. The toddlers we saw were really struggling with the cold and crying so I wouldn't take a 2 year old.

WineWithAView · 22/07/2023 22:54

Agree with PPs that 9, 7 & 5 would be great. DS was 9 when we went, he loved it. He was starting to question FC at that age but was completely swept up in it all. We've booked again and he'll be 11 this time and is just as excited.

It's such a magical experience I imagine even teens would love it if you include things like a husky ride, reindeer ride, ski lesson, etc.

MaraScottie · 22/07/2023 23:06

Definitely wait, at least 2 years. They're long cold days!

planningaparty86 · 23/07/2023 08:35

This is super helpful thank you! 9,7 and 5 it is!

Ditto for some reason I only had even numbers in my head, no idea why 🤣

I went for New year just gone with an eleven year old and still had to help him with all the layers of clothing every time we went out!
Definitely wait, it is beautiful and definitely a holiday for the list but it's a lot of faff!
