Just that really. I think I’m fairly considerate of other people’s space but have noticed that certain men, particularly wealthy, older white men, feel they have an entitlement to spread liberally into the seats on either side of them. It seems more pronounced when there’s a woman sitting next to them (not saying I believe this is necessarily sexual, more that the man in question feels more entitled to the space than anyone else).
realise this is rather low on the scale of things, but I’ve had a run of said men on transport recently and my partner was on a train the other day and heard two men (strangers) making fairly disgusting sexual comments about a woman (also a stranger to them) who had just left the train after their spreading into her seat.
absolutely realise not all men are like this but you know, there’s a type.
also - often the same type - the sort that seem to carry around bottled up aggression and let it out at random at strangers. I saw a guy yelling at a girl with Downs on the tube the other day because she got in his way. Telling her she shouldn’t be allowed to use the train.
sorry - just a bit of a moan!
