walter Mitty is back again…if you know from my previous threads, you know…

this time he is claiming as part of his split with his ex he needs £1500 + 600 for handwriting experts to prove in court that he paid all the deposit (he didn’t) for his shared property with his ex (they are tenants in common)

is this a thing? My gut tells me no?

Is this a post only for a select few who understand?

Back story my brother is a walter Mitty fantasist who is a pathological liar who has skilfully crafted many lies over the years to con large sums of money out of vulnerable family members (Royal Navy, mi5, programme delivery manager at a naval defence company, a multi billion lawsuit against me, a doctorate… frankly the list goes on)

this is the newest one ask for money and I’m very suspicious . His old fiancé left him due to the lies he told and they had a house, and that’s a very brief backstory

Come on OP, you know this guy, of course it’s not a thing. I thought you were going to try and avoid him?!

Tell him to save his money (or whoever’s money he is planning on spending!) . 🙃

He needs to get a copy of the TR1 form from his conveyancing solicitor (the whole conveyancing file would be useful).

That form SHOULD provide the best evidence of how the purchasers intended to hold the property. Certainly the court will place more weight on a TR1 than they will on a hand writing expert!!

It’s not me, it’s my gran! She’s in her 90s bless her and she was telling me about her day and bam this comes out. I need to be able to tell her firmly this isn’t a thing so she doesn’t get sucked in

(this is also therapy for me- it’s too embarrassing to talk about irl)

I don’t think he actually wants a handwriting expert I think it’s an excuse to get cash.

basically it’s how to divide the house or to tell it, the ex is still residing there (shout out to her, she’s actually a lovely person) but it’s dragging on so now he’s saying he’s got letters from her saying it was all his money(can’t be he had none) so he wants a larger share of the house
