To ask DP to finish early/take a day off

Sickness bug seems to have gone through the children, on day and child 3 now. But this week I had wall to wall interviews.
My mum usually has the kids when I'm at work but she will not have them when they are being sick like this.
Suppose to have an interview at 12.30, I would've made it if DP finished at 11 but he refused to.
My interview yesterday was for the NHS and now they are no longer interested in scheduling a new one ☹️ all interviews are going arse up because of this.
I'm aware he can't just take time off for every little sniffle but how is it fair that my career will suffer because I just look unreliable

(Be kind, I'm stressed and up to my eyeballs in washing)

What does your DP do? Unless he’s flying a plane or performing some sort of surgery (or other absolutely critical task at that time) then yes he should have finished earlier or taken time off to allow you to go to the interview.

when did you ask him - and what are his normal hours?
If he starts at 9am, finishing at 11 seems a bit unrealistic.
Do you have other interviews lined up?
