I have a colleague, we have become quite good friends, we share niche hobbies etc. We regularly go out and have coffee, lunch together. While it hasn’t strayed into openly inappropriate territory, I enjoy his company a little too much, iykwim.
We are both married, therefore the issue.
I share work with him as well, but I don’t have to.
I want to distance myself from him completely, but the problem is it’s going to be very obvious I’m avoiding him and he’s sure to ask why, what’s up with me etc.
Has anyone been in this situation and has advice? I have never experienced this before, ever.
Do I tell him why, or just say nothing?
