Is this love and should she tell her?

I had a discussion with my friend today, and I can be a little bit biased at times so wanted an outsider’s opinion because it’s been playing on my mind…

She’s been dating a woman since February/March time, they aren’t officially in a relationship yet and due to long distance, they’ve only spent time together once so far but speak all the time and video call regularly and so on.

She is convinced that she loves her, I’ve never been in a same sex relationship before so I don’t know if they tend to move quicker etc (?) but is this likely to be real love and should she actually tell her that she has these feelings or is it too soon?

Genuine love and the process of falling in it isn't different based on same sex or not.
Deep love isn't the same as lust or the heady first flush of romance. She might be saying love but still recognise there is a lot of getting to you know time to put in before you can feel completely sure it's deep and mutual. Or she might be mixing up lust and romance for the real thing.
Not sure it's screaming, 'needs wise words' to me, but depends what your friend means really.

How on earth would strangers on the internet know if your friend is in love with her girlfriend or not?

It’s not her girlfriend though… and the main answer she wanted from me was whether she should tell her the big ‘I love you’ or whether it was too soon… I haven’t been in a relationship in years so I’m not much use for dating advice! 😅
