To not follow Amazon's suggestion for night time fun and games?

I.E. to search the neighbourhood for missing delivery. That is from their website to track down 2 boxes of cat food supposedly handed to me at 10.36 pm which I have been expecting all day and which had not arrived by 10 pm. I went to bed with laptop (not for obsessively tracking purposes). My doorbell has not rung. I am on ground floor by front door so I would have heard any door opening for delivery. I got out of bed disturbing the cat who has gone out of the back door in a strop. No packages in inner hall, front porch or on door step. Came back in tried to find help on Amazon which gave the fun suggestions of trying the neighbours or playing hide and seek in the neighbourhood in the dark, in the rain. Well the cat is out there but I am in my pyjamas. But the question is am I also unreasonable?

Their drivers are driving me mad the minute.
I’ve had some drivers walk around the side of the house, ignoring the front door, and just Chuck the parcel on my back lawn. On even came up to the patio and popped the parcel through the open patio door. It took more time to do that than ring the bell.
Good luck finding the cat food. I’ve seen posts on the Nextdoor app asking if anyone has got their parcel. There are some honest people about that respond so that might be worth a try.

Thanks MNRando, I'm not on Nextdoor but I would trust my neighbours to bring round any stray parcel as I have in the past. I'm feeling a bit bad now for moaning about a 1st world problem or even a 1st cat problem now when I know the drivers/couriers are under time pressure from amazon. I never asked for or expected a delivery on Sunday but was looking out for it after 12.30 pm when I first got notification. I am hoping the driver just got behind and plans on delivering tomorrow. Just wish they would not say it has been handed to customer ( or receptionist) when it hasn't. Feel I should check again before sleeping.

If you haven't received your order to your address they owe you a refund. "Item not arrived!"

Yes it does say on the website I will get a refund but that is why I now feel bad. I was trying to find a way to report simply this parcel and others were being stated as handed to customer when they were not. But I went round the whole process of customer chat and phone call without being offered the option of explaining the problem until I gave up and said the items had not arrived. Now I am confused as to whether items are late or refunded and the cat won't have any of his favourite food by tomorrow - 1st world cat stuck in an algorithm.

Why on earth are you feeling bad? You ordered something, they said it has been delivered to you, it hasn’t, they need to sort it out. They haven’t delivered what you’ve paid for.

I hate this. Amazon constantly leave parcels in my porch without even ringing the bell, but when I look on my account, it says "Item handed to resident". Dumping it on the doorstep not even knowing if I'm in is in no way the same as handing it to me.

Exactly this has happened with all recent deliveries and to my neighbours too. I have just been on customer service chat and they say it is due to 'miscanning' because the deliverer has so may parcels. So they need to allow more time - it is their own promises of instant delivery that has set expectations. I never asked for or wanted Sunday or late night delivery. I feel bad because I assume the delivery drivers are just trying to make a living under pressure but my neighbour just told me of a similar 'mistake' concerning expensive trainers so who knows?

Just typed a long post to say parcel arrived but page refreshed and I lost it. meant to say the bell was rung and Amazon delivery announced, I meant to speak to them but by time I arrived at front door they had scarpered. No sign of van even. 1st world cat is happy now.
