Taylor swift/Ticketmaster advice

Got a code for tickets so going to try tomorrow when they go on sale. I’ve read different things about best chances but is it best to use two devices to increase chances ie iPad and laptop or would that mess things up? Haven’t actually bought concert tickets before so don’t know what to do for the best.

Use one device. Get online in plenty of time. Don't refresh the page. Throw money at it. Sorted.

nousername0 · 16/07/2023 21:07

Don't refresh once you are in the queue! And yes one device only.

happylittleclam · 16/07/2023 21:11

I got tickets through AXS in the midnights presale so might be different through ticketmaster but... I did use two devices, only because I has two codes and two accounts. If you only have one code I would use one device as I think ticketmaster will display a message if you try to use multiple devices and kick you out of the queue!

Est1990 · 16/07/2023 21:14

I had a code for presale and bought through AXS. I followed their advice. 1 device only, no multiple windows open. (I did from my phone with mobile data) Got tickets i selected. On my first attempt in the morning i didn't get it cause took 1 minute (or so) figuring out what the seats were.... PL1 PL2...then there are the packages.
So i would recommend you have an idea of each tickets you want.

Great, thanks all. Any other tips welcome 😊

We had tickets in our basket then got kicked off and lost them, rejoined and got some but more expensive. Apparently happened to multiple people. Hopefully they've fixed it now. Good luck

kittybloom · 16/07/2023 22:41

I’ve read somewhere that laptop with broadband means more likely ticketmaster/AXS thinks you are a bot and you get kicked out. Doesn’t happen with phones or running off 4G. Is there anything in this?

Rockbird · 16/07/2023 22:45

I had the opposite. I couldn't even get on to the AXS website to test log in details etc before the presale on my phone or iPad. I used my desktop at work to book and (except for the one time the bloody thing froze) I had no issues.

kittybloom · 16/07/2023 22:46

Thank you. It did sound strange!

KingOfThieves · 16/07/2023 22:48

Just use one device and you’ll probably have to log in and you definitely shouldn’t log in on 2 devices. The waiting room should open 30 minutes before the sale so join the waiting room. It will automatically load you into the queue when the sale goes live even it is takes up to a minute

TinaYouFatLard · 16/07/2023 22:51

Marking a place here. I have a code for AXS but am currently in the USA so will need to be up at a ridiculous time. Does anyone know if I should use a VPN or is that bit behaviour? I’m actually quite stressed about it as DD will be devastated if we don’t get tickets!

Rockbird · 16/07/2023 22:51

The other thing I meant to say was that, when my browser (Chrome) froze, I tried not to cry, rebooted it and it took me back to my place in the queue. I'm usually a Safari girl but I bloody loved Chrome at that moment!

AXS should work fine, no VPN required (in fact, I found a VPN leads them to think you are a bot). I was out of the country for the album pre-sale and got tickets via them with no issues. Ticketmaster does NOT work when you are out of the UK though and I couldn’t access that even with a VPN, it kept refusing me site access thinking it was a bot account.

Youarenotseriouspeople · 16/07/2023 23:00

The waiting room doesn't automatically send you through to the queue- you have to refresh bang on sale time but DONT refresh once in the queue. One device only or it will kick you out (i learned all this in the midnights presale and secured tickets the third time of trying)

christmastreefarm · 16/07/2023 23:00

You won't seat exact seats until checkout. Have a copy of layout ready to check.

TinaYouFatLard · 16/07/2023 23:28

@TheFlis12345 thank you! That’s helpful and reassuring!

fruitpastille · 16/07/2023 23:37

The queue took about 20-30 mins for me. Don't panic but do be decisive. Once it offers tickets you have about 2 mins to decide if you want them (or if you want to try for different ones). Then you have about 5 mins for all your payment details/do you want insurance etc...

The first time I timed out but actually it was fine as I went straight back into finding seats. If it says no tickets for your selection keep trying as other people will be getting timed out then more will be available. I ended up with slightly better tickets the second time but did pay a bit more. Cheapest were 86 euros but they were so high it warned of vertigo! Next were 126 euros. I'm going to Dublin!!

ellenpartridge · 16/07/2023 23:40

I got tickets through midnights presale and found ticketmaster much more stable on my iPhone than my usual android. On android I got to near the end of the queue, it suddenly errored and booted me out. Maybe a coincidence.

Aqua82 · 18/07/2023 18:03

Hello. Does it just offer you a random selection of tickets? Or do you scroll down and pick? Does it tell you the price at the time of picking the tickets?

Many thanks in advance

fruitpastille · 18/07/2023 18:58

You choose if you want left/ right/ general standing tickets or seated. There are also more expensive package options. If seated, it tells you which block and you can look at the map to decide if you want them or whether to gamble and try again for a better option.

Thank you very much!

One more question! I'm sorry.
My son has the code and will log into his ticket master account but is my husband allowed to use his credit card? So the payment will be in husbands name not his.

User538765 · 18/07/2023 20:03

If you haven't used Ticketmaster before it might be worth setting up an account beforehand so you don't have to do this

There are rumours that the person named on the credit card will need to be attending the event.
But most likely this wont be the case (imo)...there are loads of younger fans who's parents are the ones buying the tickets but not attending.

There is a lot of hysteria and panicking atm so a lot of contradicting information

Uselessatthisstuff · 18/07/2023 20:15

Make sure you have your credit card details saved on TM so you don’t need to enter them. Have your three digit code from your credit card to hand. Copy and pasting the access code didn’t work for me so have that written down ready to time in.
Know what area you want, standing/seating/tiers etc.
I must have got mega lucky as I got Edinburgh tickets, seated lower tier, and had the confirmation email from TM at 11:04.
