To think it’s more unusual to live separately forever

Just gauging opinions.

AIBU to think that it’s more common for couples in long term relationships to live together than not?

That most people start relationships with the hope of that as a common goal, and that if it isn’t in your plans, you should make it clear?

Of course it's more common.

It’s more common obviously. However if DH and I separated I would never live with someone else again. Stay over fine, but I would always keep a separate home

It is obviously more common to cohabit, but it doesn't work for everyone. I want to have a partner but I need to live alone. I am exceptionally lucky to have found someone who feels the same way.
