AIBU to think NHS staff should get a higher offer??

I don't work for the NHS but I think the 6% pay offer is appalling (I work in retail and got a 7% pay rise this year). It's less than the teachers have been offered. What an insult. Is this another sign that the government are running the NHS into the ground??

I agree - long hours, having to pay for parking and doing an incredibly important job under unbelievably stressful conditions - they, and other public sector workers, should be getting much more.

The problem is they have admin and nurses/hca’s etc all on the same pay scales. Making it very, very costly to increase nursing, Hcp and hca pay.

They should never have been combined, as a band 2 or band 5 admin is not anywhere near the same as a band 2 hca or band 5 nurse. The stresses and pressures and shit you deal with is completely different.

Like I say I''m not in the field, but you're right - that sounds ridiculous and how did the unions allow it?

Are you saying 6% is fair and if so why?

It was done under ‘agenda for change’ no idea how it aaa accepted but nursing unions are shit and bow out of striking really early.
