Are Diptyque & Fornasetti candles worth it?

I'm moving house soon and would love to get some scented candles as a bit of a luxury item to make the new house smell beautiful. I have been gifted a Fornasetti candle before but didn't burn it for several years and now think that maybe the scent had faded a bit as it didn't seem to have much 'throw'. They are obviously hideously expensive – if they are lit when you buy them does the scent fill a room? (I really love the jars!) Or should I look at Diptyque / Byredo candles? Is it unreasonable to spend this much on candles?? (I mean it's obviously unreasonable to spend on the Fornasetti candles! but is £50 for Byredo or Diptyque unreasonable?) Or are there any others that anyone would recommend that might not break the bank as much??

I really love herby, woody scents (I often wear Byredo Bibliotheque or Comme Des Garcons Olfactory Library Calamus). I've currently got my eye on the Diptyque L'Elide candle (I love the jar it's in!)

I'm going to guess the silence means expensive candles are totally unreasonable 😂Would still love some quality / cheaper candle recommendations!

I love Diptyque. They have a good throw, in my experience.

If you buy from Diptyque's website, they come beautifully packaged in a little dust bag and you usually get a free perfume sample or three.

I LOVE Diptique candles. Not found any better. It's my one luxury for my home and everyone knows to gift them to me for any celebration 😂

I do like Diptyque. Mostly now though I'm using my mini Neom pod with oils or my larger Aromatherapy Associates atomiser with fragrance oils

Try chase and wonder . Beautiful candles in ceramic keepsakes . Very luxurious packaging so feel a real treat to receive . All the fragrances are lovely but the library is very special .

@LilacSorbet well, you've convinced me! I just placed an order on the website 😆

Diptique are the best imo, but a very close second and cheaper are True Grace candles. They do a lovely one called 'library' and 'Curiosity" which are woody and deep scents.

I just buy a plain candle and put a drop of oil in the melted wax.
