Would you choose black bridesmaid dresses? Why? Why not? Are they considered bad luck?

Getting married next August and I’ve always wanted a black tie, classy cream/gold/black theme. I’d love for the groomsmen to match the bridesmaids, and with the groomsmen wearing black suits, I’m so tempted to have my bridesmaids in black too. Husband’s suit is black too, and I think it’s all such a nice contrast to my white dress.
I just think it’s such a good, solid color and the dresses could be reworn so many times. But everything I read is about how wearing black is like mourning or bad luck.
