To expect Vinted to support a damaged item claim?

I sold and posted with EVRI a dress with Vinted. Buyer complained/messages to say it had holes in it. It had. Something sharp has pierced the packaging and gone through several layers of dress and come out the other side of packaging.

Vinted have refunded the buyer and will not help me claim from EVRI for the damage. EVRI will only accept a claim from Vinted. Has anyone experienced this?

AIBU to pursue this or should I get over it? (It was a £40 dress, so not cheap!)

so, if you sent the parcel, why are they saying Vinted needs to claim?

Thanks for your reply.
I did contact EVRI immediately and this was their response;
"I can see that you purchased the shipping label for this parcel via Vinted when you sold your item. While your parcel was sent using the Evri network, Vinted are regarded as the carrier in this situation as they provided you with the shipping label. This means that any claims for parcels which have become lost, damaged or delivered late will need to go directly to them so they can discuss the appropriate next steps with you.

In turn, Vinted will get in touch with us on your behalf to discuss the matter further."
