To wear this dress to a wedding?

Would this dress be OK to wear as a guest to a wedding? Fully prepared to be told no but no worries as can use it just as a summer dress.

Yes I think so!

DataNotLore · 01/07/2023 09:14

I love that! It'll be great

Groutyonehereagain · 01/07/2023 09:14

It’s fine, you’ll look lovely. ❤️

FionnulaTheCooler · 01/07/2023 09:15

I don't see why not. Its got a small amount of white at the bottom of the skirt but there's no way you would confuse it with a bridal dress so looks fine to me.

HaveAHeavenlyDay · 01/07/2023 09:16

I agree with a PP I wouldn't buy from Shein.

As a style/colour it's very pretty.

JudgeRudy · 01/07/2023 09:19

I don't like the dress myself (the top and bottom seems mismatched), but there's not 'wedding offence' bring committed here.
My only reservation would be that it's from Shein, so reserve judgement until it arrives and have a back up plan

Mumto1boyo · 01/07/2023 09:20

Wasn't aware of this about shein.

I like the colours, style and look of it from the photos.

But think it will look cheap and shit in real life cos its from Shein (and that's quite apart from any ethical concerns about the company)

CurlewKate · 01/07/2023 09:22

I think it's lovely- but honestly I don't see how it could be nice for that price. The skirt needs to be full and twirly- I reckon for 20 quid it'll be flimsy and skimpy.

JeminaSunshine · 01/07/2023 09:23

Have you actually got it? What they say it looks like and what turns up can often be chalk and cheese.

Hoppinggreen · 01/07/2023 09:24

It looks nice in the photo but it’s a lot of dress for £20 so I imagine it might look very different in the flesh

Mumto1boyo · 01/07/2023 09:26

It arrived yesterday and not as bright as the picture which was good as my mum was worried it would be a bit too ooo look at me. The quality isn't bad either. Wedding is in April so may need a shawl yo keep warm too.

Like the dress but agree with others not to shop at Shein.

letsgotothebeach · 01/07/2023 09:31

Would avoid Shein purely for their ethics as pointed out in the article posted previously. Plus it’ll look nothing like that in real life.

Fiddlesticks82 · 01/07/2023 09:32

In itself. - fine

but at the price… will be APPALLING quality and it will be that feature of it that gets attention!

EscapeTheCastle · 01/07/2023 09:34

An April wedding? You are very organised!

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 01/07/2023 09:36

April? As in April in NINE months?! Blimey, that’s some serious planning OP!

Mumto1boyo · 01/07/2023 09:37

It's a wedding of people I don't really give a shit about as they aren't nice to me but have to go as family.
I could have been a right bitch and done all black like she did for our wedding but that's another thread.

Have you got a photo of the actual dress? Now it's arrived?

This. It’ll look crap from Shein.

Mumto1boyo · 01/07/2023 09:46

Here it is on me.

Crikey - you’re organised if you’re buying now for an event in 10 months!

It’s absolutely fine for a wedding but given the amount of time you have, why not look at some other options? I know you’ve said it looks/feels ok for the money, but honestly it’s likely to read as a bit cheap - the fabric and fit from Shein is always shonky.

But more importantly, as others have said, this company is ethically one of the worst you can possibly buy from - they’re bottom of the table against every single metric for fast fashion, they’re destroying the planet and their labour practices are just awful. By comparison somewhere like Primark, which is the same price point, has really upped its game in recent years.

Why don’t you repost in S&B with a max budget - the fashion vipers will find you something great in no time.

EnjoythemoneyJane · 01/07/2023 09:48

PS it does look nice on you btw, but please don’t support Shein!

And yet you’re giving their wedding all this brain space - NINE mo the before the actual day
