To hate the word pre-teen

It’s so American!!! I don’t get why people have started using it here. It’s just so annoying.

Spose there doesn’t need to be a word for it really. But a 7yo kid is v different to a 12 year old, so I guess pre-teen is a handy label.

Ugh, my mate has been calling hers pre-teens since they were 10. Guess what? They've played up to the moody teen expectation placed on them and are ridiculous now. But it's just pre-teens isn't it? 😏

Well you can just say 7 or 10. A 13 year old is very different to a 19 year old so teen or teenager isn't always useful either

yeah but most people I know would refer to someone who is 17-19 as a young adult not as teenager (despite them technically still being teens)
