To feel I can't afford a solicitor

My husband and I are divorcing it's blindsided me and as times gone on its become clear he's been having a affair
I'm now a single mum working part time ,I've looked at solicitors and I cannot honestly afford it. Does anyone know if you can get any help with the costs? Legal aid isn't used in divorce I've been told.

My partner and his ex did everything almost all themselves. But they were amicable.

I’m currently separated and I’ve received legal aid for it.

There is equity on the house so I’ve been told it will need to be paid back then but if there was no equity it would be covered under legal aid.

I’d check several solicitors in the area, ask them if they can give recommendations. I called a big one who were very expensive and they gave me the number of one who I’m using now.
