i sold an item on fb marketplace about 6 months ago. fairly cheap item (£20) and definitely worked when i sold it as i had tested it. person who bought it has just messaged me months later saying she had put it away and has now got it out and it doesn’t work - she’s sent 4 messages and tried to add me. i feel awkward about it as we have a mutual friend but aibu to just ignore this

Yes, or block.

INeedAnotherName · 23/06/2023 23:33

Shes lying. She broke it and is pretending she put it away. Block.

mrsfollowill · 23/06/2023 23:34

Just block- what a chancer!

What embarrassing behaviour from her. I’d reply sorry to hear that, it was working when you sold it 4 months ago.

The mutual friend do you care what they think?

satellitesunshine · 24/06/2023 10:48

@Equalitea not really, i’ve not seen her in a while anyway but still just feels awkward. i kind of can’t believe the audacity in all honesty 😅

Just ignore. 4 months ago? She's broken it. No need to engage with her.

How ridiculous. Something bought for cheap months ago, does she have nothing better to do. Block her. I've bought stuff from Marketplace and got it home and it's broken, toys costing £5. I wouldn't even waste my time contacting the seller then.
