Hello, I found a lump over a year ago n just sort of left it to see if it grew, it's stayed the same but am having the worst anxiety about it, I've rand the doctors I have an appointment, but I'm scared. It's a movable lump on my sternum near the bottom it's quite soft and only painful if I'm prodding it for a while, anyone every had this before? I just hope it's nothing thankyou

Just see your GP and have it checked. I had a lump in my armpit. They saw me next day, felt it and confirmed it was nothing to worry about.

It will be your xiphisternum. We all have them!

Could it be a gland aka lymph node? I know the first thought with a swollen lymph node and no sign of infection is "CANCER", and sometimes that is the case, but sometimes they swell up to fight something off and then just don't go down. I'm very "gland-y" and have had some stay swollen for months and months after having something like shaving irritation next to it.

Possibly if we have some in that place it may be, my partner has one up permanently in his arm pit he had it checked no cancer thank god

If it hard and attached I’d be worried. But soft and movable is more likely a cist I’d think. Definitely important to get it checked, if nothing else for peace of mind.

Just incase someone comes across this post looking for reassurance, 100% rule anything out with your GP, mine did a really good check of the lump and it's just Lipoma! Nothing to worry about, really relieved. Always get checked your never wasting time wether it's harmless or not. X
