I'm pretty sure I'm being unreasonable but..

So a TA job/ apprenticeship is going in a school within walking distance. Exactly what I'm looking for basically.

However, a woman whose child goes there (child is in the year i'd be learning in by looks of it) and I have a history. Let's just say she really dislikes me, nade my mental health plummet for a while years ago and the dislike is mutual . I'd more than likely have to talk with her and be civil with her.. I could do it but I'm not sure about her. She really was a piece of work.

I'm a super anxious person in general, but I think I'm being daft letting one unpleasant person but me off a good opportunity.

What do you think? Can someone give my head a wobble please.

Just go for it. You would be professional in this situation. Best of luck

Go for it! Don't let one nasty person put you off...your interactions with her would probably be a tiny fraction of your job and presumably her child will move on to another class soon enough. Try to let your choices be guided by your hopes not your fears. Good luck! : )

I would say teachers interact more with parents than TA's

The most you would do would be passing her the child at the door?

TA's tend to move around a lot in schools year on year.

You can re set your thinking to 'you will be infringing on her space in a position of authority' ie, you will have more power over her in a space that was previously hers.

Let your school know too if you decide to go for it, once your hired and settled in, that is

Would she be a colleague or simply parent of a child at the school? If the latter then definitely go for the job.

I was a TA for years and met a multitude of unhinged parents - the come and go - it will be for one year and you’ll move classes anyway!
