18 month old keeps wetting the bed ? Nappy not soaked ?

Over the last 6 weeks , my son 18 months keeps wetting the bed . We change him at least twice during the night . He has just had a two hour nap and the bed is soaked. Nappy only slightly wet.
I originally used Aldi , then moved to pampers , then tried Pampers pull ups i case he was pulling the nappy off but still no luck.
I have also tried putting little shorts on him so he can’t pull his willy out of his nappy but he has still been wet !

He has a double bed and I’m Washing the sheets 4/5 times a week due to him wetting the bed . He does sleep on his tummy at times ?

He wears size 5 nappies and I believe these are the right size ? So I can’t work out the mystery !
Please help !?

Is he wearing vests at night - are they too tight? I found with my DS that they were pulling everything out of alinement as it were!

Is he in the right size? Too big and there will be leaks but obviously the whole nappy won't be soaked. Perhaps try a smaller size and see if that makes a difference?

Make sure his willy is pointed down when you put the nappy on, and change size. Try smaller first, it's obviously leaking out somewhere

We had this every night no matter the brand or size. We have to double nappy now! Normal nappy first then a pull up and no leaks at all now, he sleeps better too

We had this for a while with my eldest, nothing other than using 2 nappies helped. We assumed he had just got to an age where he was holding it for longer until he needed a massive wee and the nappy couldn't absorb it quick enough.

Ds1 had that problem, and double nappy was the only thing that worked.

Purplestorm83 · 17/06/2023 17:37

Is he maybe sticking his hand down inside the nappy in the night? My daughter used to do this occasionally and it caused leaks .

Is he thirstier than normal? Losing weight?
I don't want to freak you out but this happened to my 2 year old, suddenly up several times a night as soaked through, begging for water at bedtime etc and it was Type 1 Diabetes. It comes on really suddenly in young children.
If you look it up and recognise any other symptoms get to the GP ASAP for a finger prick test. Our GP fucked around and fobbed me off and DS ended up in intensive care with DKA.

Does he sleep on his tummy wirh bum in air ? We found. A extra absorbant incontance pad stuck in helped x

Hi I was going to say as above. Maybe take them for a glucose check. My twins were both diagnosed type one diabetic at three one after the other. Keep a eye out for the four t's.
