How do some celebrities have 100% smooth underarms?

How do celebrities maintain perfectly hairless underarms? Their underarms always look sleek and clean.
My own experience with waxing hasn't been as effective because the hair grows back quickly and some fine hairs often get missed. Even after seven laser treatments, I still have some hair.

Do these celebrities achieve their smooth underarms through electrolysis or by getting numerous laser treatments?

Is this a joke? Why do you care about totally smooth underarms? Mindboggling. I's like that Dove advert where they showed armpits and raved about how smooth they were due to that particular product. I actually burst out laughing the first time I saw it thinking it was a piss take.

MN runs on inconsequential speculation about obscure and trivial things, though.

OP is allowed to wonder about anything she likes.

I’m so glad it’s not just me! I was worried I was the human equivalent of one of those hideous hairless cats!

A cat that looks like a hand!
Yes, me too.
Tbf, menopause is creating hair on my face though, WTF?!

TheFlis12345 · 17/06/2023 00:19

I have perfectly smooth, hair free pits. I used a Lumea for 10 weeks, nearly a decade ago. The hair never grew back!

Electrolysis hair removal. Its uncomfortable but it's gone for good. I'm naturally very fair blonde so I don't get the shadow, so some of the paler celebrities may have that to their advantage. I'd also guess if you wax you probably have it done immediately before big events where you're likely to be photographed.

MattDamon · 17/06/2023 05:49

What laser are you using, OP? You shouldn't still have hair there after 7 sessions (assuming it was done properly and spaced out appropriately). I'm 98% hair-free 10 years after using a Candela brand machine. Cynosure was the other major professional machine recommended at the time.

Does laser work on really deep armpits?? My armpits virtually go up to my shoulders and they're so difficult to shave! Anyone else with freakishly deep holes in their armpits?

Lcb123 · 17/06/2023 05:54

I bet most is photoshop

camelfinger · 17/06/2023 05:55

I’m now feeling very proud of my celebrity armpits. Just not particularly hairy, and no shadow when I do shave. Lots of hair everywhere else through, and nothing else resembling a celebrity!

Access to the 'best' beauty treatments, money to have them lasered when it was a newer treatment years ago....and photoshop!

No idea but I’ve never really had hair under my arms at all. In my twenties I thought I’d grow them to get them waxed. The beautician was laughing her head off as there were about three tiny hairs! I don’t get them on my legs either. I don’t know if this is a common thing. Maybe I’m just weird

Same here, it’s one part of my body I’m pretty happy with! Lack of body hair, except on my head where it’s thick and strong.

liveforsummer · 17/06/2023 06:18

Surely they just swipe a razor over it every time or every other time they have a shower, much like I do? My under arm skin looks like any other skin on my body and I use no fancy procedures

Tigersinthetent · 17/06/2023 06:22

Mine are smooth. I bought a lumea about 10 years back, used it for a year and the hair completely went.

Opaque11 · 17/06/2023 06:26

I've had laser all over. It's absolutely the best thing never having to worry about that.

bigdecisionstomake · 17/06/2023 06:33

I'm dark haired and had IPL in my 30s (54 now) to remove it from my underarms and to neaten up my bikini line. I've had a couple of top up treatments since but I think over the years it's saved me a fortune in waxing/shaving etc....plus you just don't have to think about it any longer.

andHelenknowsimmiserablenow · 17/06/2023 08:33

I use a Braun epilator on underarms and legs (bit too ouch for bikini line), and it's great. Underarms stay hair free for much longer and putting deodorant on afterwards doesn't sting as much as after shaving.

thebestbirtheraccordingtoDD · 17/06/2023 12:53

IPL. It's awesome. Haven't shaved my pits in years. Smooth and hassle free
Had bikini done too.

cocksstrideintheevening · 17/06/2023 13:17

I have no hair under my arms at all. It just never appeared!

KentishDreamer30 · 17/06/2023 14:17

It's interesting to hear that many of you naturally don't have underarm hair. However, I'm sure that's not the case with most celebrities. I think Photoshop definitely plays a role. Unfortunately, in my case, while I'm not extremely hairy, underarm hair becomes an issue, especially in the summers.

KentishDreamer30 · 17/06/2023 14:19

Especially in summer, I sometimes skip waxing my legs when wearing midi or cropped trousers, but I can't avoid waxing my underarms.

When you see them at events etc, they may well have serious makeup etc everywhere. Botox to stop sweat etc.
